Bhubaneswar: A 7-member Central team will visit the Cyclone Amphan affected areas in Odisha on Thuraday.

The seven member team headed by union home ministry joint secretary Sri Sri Prakash has arrived here on Wednesday. The team will split into two groups and visit the cyclone affected areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsingpur.

The team will assess the damages caused by the Cyclone Amphan, which left a trail of destruction in four coastal districts of the State.

The team will have a meeting with the senior officials of the State government after visiting the affected districts.

The State government is preparing a memorandum detailing the damages to seek Central assistance. The memorandum would be submitted to the visiting Central team.

Immediately after the cyclone, the prime minister had visited the State and announced Rs500 crore advance assistance for relief and restoration works.
