Narendrapur (Odisha) : Tata Steel BSL is going to plant 1.20 lakh saplings this fiscal.
“More than 1300 saplings of local variety were planted in the plant premises and in neighbouring villages. The horticulture department of the company has taken an ambitious target of planting around one lakh twenty thousand saplings across its operational locations through the scientific Miyawaki Method of Plantation in this financial year. Out of which one lakh saplings will planted in and around mother plant of the company in Dhenkanal.”
The Tata Steel BSL celebrated the World Environment Day 2020 across its locations in Dhenkanal Odisha, Khopoli in Maharsatra and at Sahibabad in in UP by organizing a series of activities.
At its Dhenkanal plant a plantation drive was inaugurated by Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Angul Dr. Anup Kumar Mallick. Senior executives of the company including G Venkatanarayan, Chief, Iron Making, Manikanta Naik, Chief, Corporate Services, Saroj Banerjee, Chief, Environment among others were present on the occasion.
This year’s theme for World Environment Day was – Biodiversity – Time for Nature”.
Similarly in its Sahibabad plant in Uttar Pradesh, Regional Officer, UP Pollution Control Board BK Singh had joined the celebrations in presence of Executive Plant Head Anoop Kumar Trivedi and other dignitaries. At Khopoli plant in Maharastra VP, Production, B Nahar, VP, Production V Bindoo led the celebrations. Plantations, competitions, awareness sessions on various aspects of enviornment were organised in all locations.
