New Delhi: The prime minister, Narendra Modi, Tuesday announced that the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will continue till the end of Novembed 2020. Under this Yojana, 80 crore people who are covered in Food Security Act will get free 5kg rice/ wheat and 1 kg dal per month per member of a family. The PMGKAY which was announced for three month after the nation wide Covid-19 lockdown was announced for three months is coming to end this month.
The prime minister, while addressing the nation on Tuesday afternoon, said that a total of Rs 1.5 lakh crore will be spent in this Yojana. He said because of the farmers and tax payers, the government is able to feed the poor people.
