Bhubaneswar: The Centre has extended the last date for PM Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) to 5th August from 31st July following initiatives by Odisha cooperation minister RP Swain.
Realising that the farmers would not be able register themselves under the PMFBY by due date due to the pandemic, Swain had taken up the matter with the chief minister Naveen Patnaik to demand for an extension of deadline before the Centre. It was following the letter from the chief secretary to this effect, the Centre has extended the last date for registration under PMFBY till 5th August.
