Bhubaneswar:The Odisha government on Wednesday decided to move to the Centre demanding minimum support price (MSP) for all crops as per the MS Swaminathan Committee recommendation.
The State cabinet, under the chairmanship of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, resolved to this effect today.
The MS Swaminathan chaired National Commission on Farmers had recommended that “MSP should be at least 50% more than the weighted average cost of production.”
The Odisha Assembly has earlier passed unanimous resolution in this regard in 2017 and 2018.
