Bhubaneswar: Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sobhan Kar has taken VRS from service ahead of 12 years of his superannuation. Sobhan, son of former Odisha Assembly speaker and veteran politician Sarat Kar, is likely to join politics.
Sobhan’s VRS has been accepted by the government with effect from 31.12.2020.
An honest and upright officer, Sobhan has worked in various capacity in India and foreign countries like US, UK, Canada, France, Denmark with efficiency.
Sobhan has expressed his willingness to work for people in Odisha.
However, given his family background, and his political connections in Odisha, his joining electoral politics is a matter of time, believes many in the State.
