Cuttack: The Odisha police STF team, on the basis of reliable information, Saturday conducted a raid at “Baba Dhabaleswar Koila Dipu” by the side of NH-55 and busted an organized racket involved in cargo theft and illegal unloading of costly materials/ cargo from interstate transport vehicles. .
The STF at the time of raid found eight trucks loaded with Lam Coke at the spot, from where voluminous Lam Cokes had been unloaded/stolen and the same was found to have been loaded in other trucks for the purpose of disposal for their illegal pecuniary benefit. Heap of such illegally unloaded Lam Coke weighing about 32 tonnes along with nine trucks loaded Lam Cokes, one JCB, some resealing and repackaging materials along with other incriminating materials were seized from the culprits at the spot.
Total 54 tonnes of Lam Coke were found to have been stolen and kept stored by the culprits illegally for the purpose of sale which would be worth of Rs.13.50 lakh. The STF has booked a case U/s 379/411/120(B) IPC and arrested 10 persons in this case.
