Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet held under the chairmanship of chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday took 11 major decisions relating to the departments of finance, fisheries and animal resource development, general administration and public grievances, and, housing and urban development.


Informing people about the cabinet decisions, chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said cabinet took 11 major decisions today out of which 4 related to construction and widening of Biju Express Way for enhanced connectivity in Western Odisha. The road would also boost economic and industrial development in the entire region.

The Cabinet approved the proposal for transfering the subject of Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha Ltd.(IDCOL) to steel & mines department from the industries department. The activities of IDCOL has meanwhile changed to mining business.

The Cabinet has approved the increase the strength OAS cadres in mid and senior level to 1903 to 2123. The.Number of post increased in the ranks of OAS Group-A(SB), OAS (Supertime Scale), OAS (Superior Administrative Grade) and OAS (Special Secretary) level.
