Kolkata: Syamapada Mukherjee Port (Kolkata Port) has launched container rake operations with flagging off a 40×40 container rake from ICD Ludhiana to KDS,SPM port on Thursday. The SMP with collaboration with Mearsk Line and Pristine Mega Logistics operated the container rake.
“This has opened a new vista of opportunity for SMP, Kolkata,” said the port chairman Vinit Kumar. According to him, connectivity with North India with KDS and Bangladesh is achieved through this with optimum costs and time rationalisation.
