Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 pandemic augus well for IT sector as it has accelerated the pace of digital transformation. This what viewed at the CII organised conclave “11th ICT Odisha – Digital Transformation: Rebuilding and Evolving Post Pandemic”.

As Covid 19 pandemic challenged the world like never before, organizations hurried to look for ways to continue their operations remotely through digital transformation initiatives with greater urgency, speakers told at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized conclave. The speakers added that the urgency of digital transformation will make organizations resilient to weather future challenges.

This session was organized to understand how the digital transformation is reshaping the operations of organizations and what the implications at the ground level are during this pandemic. Since government organizations were the first responders in a crisis like this, the departments embraced the digital technologies for delivering services seamlessly and continue operations without any disruptions.

Odisha IT minister Tusharkanti Behera said, “It is overwhelming that CII has organized this session during this pandemic. Government of Odisha has taken several steps for digitization of various departments and inclusion of 430 new services and in child education where Odisha Primary Education Programmed Authority (OPEPA) was digitally enabled for online education and E-learning.”

Speaking on this session, Odisha IT secretary Manoj Mishra, said, “Covid pandemic stretched our system to the limit. Thankfully our digital transformation had started much early as part of our 5T initiatives. It was certainly a huge challenge before us, but we were never overwhelmed nor did our system fail us at any point of time. ”

This session was also participated by STPI, Bhubaneswar, director Manas Kumar Panda , MD & Head of Digital, Arthur D. Little (India) Sashikant Mohanty , chief digital officer, Vineet Jaiswal and head of CII Tata Communication Centre for digital transformation Col. Suhail Zaidi. Convenor CII ICT Panel, founder and CEO CSM Priyadarshi Nanu Pany , delivered the welcome address where the Keynote address was delivered by director general, Software Technology Parks of India, Dr.Omkar Rai

During this event, ‘Joint Certificate of Recognition’ was given by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, government of Odisha to Saswat Kumar Panda, CEO, Quocent and Gaurav Dash, CEO, Pharos Softtech Ltd for their innovative B2C solution for COVID Pandemic.

The inaugural session was followed by panel discussion, “Rebuilding and Evolving Post Pandemic. The session was moderated Mr Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, Convener, CII ICT Panel, Founder & CEO, CSM Technology Pvt Ltd.

Pani said: “It took a pandemic to accelerate organizations’ journey to transform themselves into a digital enterprise. But we need more than that to catch up with the speed of need and the transition from an automated world to an autonomous world. This is what real digital transformation will be. It will make organizations resilient and weather future challenges with greater confidence.”
