Paradip (Odisha): 75th Independence Day was celebrated by Paradip Port Trust Authority with a great passion following the Covid-19 guidelines. AK Bose, dy. chairman, PPT unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade in which 3 contingents of CISF, participated.
Addressing the gathering, he said that during the fiscal, till July 2021, the Port has handled 39.60 million metric tonnes (MMT) cargo by exhibiting a positive growth of 14.32% in comparison to same period of last fiscal.
The Port has handled the highest ever cargo of 114.55 MMT in the last fiscal and improving its performance year-on-year. In the month of March’ 2021 the Port has also handled highest ever monthly total of 11.64 MMT, as against the previous record of 11.17 MMT in January’ 21 in the current fiscal. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and just 3 days after Cyclone YAAS, a record 30 shipping movements have been carried out from May 29th to 30th morning.
