Bhubaneswar: The 94th Birth Anniversary of eminent sculptor late Bipra Charan Mohanty was observed, here on Thursday.
The BC Mohanty Memorial Foundation Trust in collaboration with the State culture department observed the birth anniversary the great artist by garlanding the artist’s statue on Bidyut Marga of the city.
Badachana MLA Amar Satpathy, former MLA and Odisha State Housing Board chairman Priyadarshi Mishra, State Information Commissioner Dilip Kumar Bisoi,Lalit Kala Academy secretary Panchanan Samal, culture department under secretary Behera, Pala artist Allhad Sunderanath Chotray, former corporator Naren Sahu, Dhauli Charukala College lecturer Chandan Samal, Ramesh Chandra Patalsingh, Umanath Mishra, Arun Deo and Siba Suara paid rich tribute to the great sculptor of Odisha. Dhirendra Kumar Mohanty presided over the meeting and Trust chairperson Rita Mohanty gave the vote of thanks.
On this occasion, students of sculptor art Shakti Ranjan Barik, Smruti Ranjan Behera and Mrunmayee Panda were awarded. Post graduate student in sculptor art Saraswati Angria was handed over the student scholarship by the Trust.
