Bhubaneswar: Sitrarm Rungta Municipal Town Hall had successfully completed 5 years of service to the people of Barbil municipality and running smoothly with mutual efforts of both Barbil Municipally and Rungta Mines Limited.
Considering the needs and aspirations of different stakeholders, the project was conceptualized in the year 2013 and India’s leading player in steel manufacturing and mining, Rungta Mines limited (RML) taken up the project as part of its CSR initiative.
Following the commitment, Rungta Mines Ltd. has engaged a competent architect to translate the expectations of the people of Barbil into reality within a time frame. The government has allocated an area of 2.7-acre in the ward no. 4 of Barbil municipality for this project. The multi-purpose auditorium is having an area of 6000 sq. feet with a capacity to accommodate 530 people. The main hall’s features have been accentuated with acoustic panelling, false ceiling, stage crafts, stage light, and a line array audio system. Other amenities such as a central air conditioning system, automatic fire detection cum suppression system, 2 green rooms with attached toilet, separate service block, boundary wall around 2.7 Acre land with 2 entry gates, separate Toilet Blocks for audience, drinking water facility through bore well & OHT and a dedicated transformer, DG set for emergency, internal roads, a parking area beautified with paver blocks and ornamental plantation. The project was inaugurated in the year 2017 and handed over to Barbil Municipality for its optimum utilisation.
Since then, it is extensively used for organising different programmes, events, meetings, celebrations, socio-cultural functions of government, private and general public. The Sitaram Rungta Municipal Town Hall is a great asset of Barbil and fulfils the needs of people.
