Bhubaneswar: XIM Bhubaneswar conducted the Annual Marketing Conclave: MERCATIQUE 2022, hosted by MAXIM – The Marketing Committee of XIM.
This year the theme was “Driving Growth in the era of New Age Customers.”
The event was hosted on 11th September 2022 and was graced by the presence of Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP, Ecommerce, Welspun Group, Sameer Jain, VP & Head, D2C E-commerce, Max Life Insurance Company, Tribikram Mishra, Vice President, Myntra and Hari Pulipati, Industry head, Automotive & D2C, Meta.
Prof. Krishna Das Gupta, Professor, Marketing, Ph.D. (Marketing), presented the theme for the day, “Post-pandemic is truly a new age and a new customer.”
Sriram Gopalaswamy, Sr VP E-Commerce, Welspun Group, spoke on the topic “Cross Border E-Commerce” and how the Indian government is looking to promote exports. Sriram mentioned, “Have the option to keep the product on the physical shelf and then give him an option to buy that online.”
Sameer Jain, VP & Head D2C E-Commerce, Max Life Insurance, talked about” E-Commerce Business – The Darkhorse in Life Insurance,” where he expressed how Digital Transformation is not a revolution. Mr. Sameer stated, “If another rival competitor comes in with more effective pricing, suddenly your incomes can fall down.”
Tribikram Mishra, Vice president at Myntra, who shared his insights on “D2C and Omnichannel transforming retail”. He put forward the point, “When you are closer to the consumer, you see a lot of information coming back and impacting your decision-making.”
Hari Pulipati, Industry Head, Automotive & D2C, Meta spoke on the topic “Discovery Commerce,” where he expressed, “Today the consumer is always exploring brands; they are introduced to brands every single day. This is the power of online.”
MaxEdge Magazine by MAXIM, the annual marketing magazine of XIM Bhubaneswar was launched on this occasion. This was immediately followed by the announcement of winners of Pitch Please, an event to pitch real-world solutions for real-life problems.
The summit concluded with an ending note and a vote of thanks from Sukumar Krishnan, the MAXIM co-ordinator.
