Paradeep: Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) initiative to upskill local youth started giving dividends. As many as 143 out of 200 local youth completed skill training in the first batch have found placements in companies such as Tatwa Technologies Ltd, Desicrew Services Kaup Private Limited, AP Industrial Solutions Private Limited, V5 Global Services Pvt Ltd, AIIT Academy, Mahavir Traders.

The leading steel maker under its skill development initiative “Daksh”, had set up a Skill Development Centre at Paradeepgarh in May 2022 to impart skill development training to the local underprivileged youth. Two hundred local youths have successfully completed the placement linked IT/ITES training in the first batch.. Among the selected trainefd youth, 70% are girls.

‘Felicitation cum Award Ceremony of Digital Skilling Beneficiaries’ was organised at Paradeepgarh. All the students were felicitated by Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Operation, AM/NS India. Present on the occasion were Sasmita Behera, Sarpanch, Paradeepgarh, Debendra Kumar Rout, Sarpanch, Nuagarh, ZPramod Kumar Samal, Principal, Govt ITI, Paradeep, Sri Vikas Yadvendu, Head-CSR, AM/NS India, Smt. Suprana Nanda, Head-Corporate Affairs and Sri Shailendra Sah, Head-Capex & Opex.

On the occasion Sri Suresha G said, “I congratulate all the local youths who have been successfully placed after the completion of the course. I admire their determination and perseverance to avail the given opportunities and embark on the path of success. Going forward, we will provide more opportunities to upskill local youths through skill development training programmes which will help them to be industry ready”.
Smt Sasmita Behera, Sarpanch, Paradeepgarh and Sri Debendra Kumar Rout, Sarpanch, Nuagarh, thanked AM/NS India for lending support in setting up the Skill Development Centre for local youths and helping them in honing their skill and making them employable.
AM/NS India has also trained 200 youths each in Hazira, Pune and Raipur with a placement of more than 70% students. Encouraged with the success of the first batch at Paradeep, AM/NS India plans to enrol more number of youths in the Centre at Paradeep in the second batch and also open new centres in Kendrapara, Sundargarh and Keonjhar.
