Joda/Barbil: Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) celebrated the 77th Independence Day at its Pellet Plant and Iron Ore mines at Tensa and Kasia with the spirit of patriotism and resounding enthusiasm. Purushotham M D, Kamalakanta Nanda and Raghuraj Raghuwanshi (In-charge) the Unit Heads of Barbil Pellet Plant, Tensa and Kasia Mines respectively unfurled the National Flag amidst the unit-level Independence Day festivities.
In a message, JSP Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal paid homage to the valiant freedom fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the relentless struggle to liberate the nation from colonial shackles. He asserted, “We work for the country, and before that, we work for our company. Since what is good for the country is also good for our company, let us fulfil our responsibilities with complete dedication and honesty, inspired by the national flag, the tricolour.”
In his message, Ashish Pandey, Head – Raw Materials, said, “JSP is resolutely committed to nation-building and community upliftment, perpetually fostering an ecosystem of growth, inclusivity, and equitable opportunities for our esteemed workforce.”
Speaking passionately at the Pellet Plant gathering, Purushotham M D conveyed his pride, stating, “Our Company, Jindal Steel and Power has been recognized in India as a “Great Place to Work. This is a significant achievement for us. Our production reached an impressive 7,570,510 metric tons and sales figure reached 7,326,096 metric tons. On July 9th, 2023, we witnessed a historic moment as Hon’ble Chairman sir and Hon’ble Chairperson madam of JSP Foundation inaugurated the state-of-the-art Jindal Sports Hostel at Barbil. Furthermore, in the healthcare domain a multispecialty 19-bed ‘Jindal Aarogyam Hospital’ is underway and will be operational soon. Our JSP Foundation distributed 5,000 hockey kits as part of the Grassroots Hockey Development Programme at Rourkela.”
Commending the outstanding efforts of the workforce, Nanda, Unit Head, Tensa Mines expressed his thankfulness to the company management and the employees for their support and contributions towards the remarkable performance of the unit and said, “Tensa Mines produced 2.5 million tonnes and dispatched 3.04 million tonnes during the financial year 2022-23.”
Raghuwanshi, Unit Head (In-charge), Kasia Mine, in his address to employees and workers, conveyed his hedartfelf gratitude to the employees for their support and contributions and cited, “The mines achieved 3.84 million tonnes of dispatch well before the scheduled date of 19th November 2023.”
All three units organized the “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga” campaign to commemorate the 77th Independence Day celebration at the townships. The campaign was actively participated in by employees and their family members. Various cultural and sports events were organized under the active supervision of Ashish Ranjan Mohanty, Head HR & ES, and his team.
