Bhubaneswar : The Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) contributed Rs. 20 lakh to the IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter for promotion of metallurgy among students of Odisha. Convenor of IIM-ATM (annual technical meeting) 2023 Committee and advisor of Hindalco Industries Ltd. Mr. Bibhu Mishra handed over a cheque of Rs. 20 lakh to IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter Chairman and Director of IMMT Bhubaneswar Dr AK Chaubey at a function held in Bhubaneswar.
The amount would be spend in organizing seminars and symposiums for college and university students, research scholars and working technical professionals to promote metallurgy and explore innovations in the field of metal production. Currently, IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter has over 200 members.
Among others, SS Mohanty, MD of Essar Minmet and Chairman of IIM-ATM 2023 Committee, Dr. Ramanuj Narayan and Sadashiv Samantray, both Co-Chairman of IIM-ATM 2023 and Ajit Panigrahi, Secretary of IIM Bhubaneswar Chapter were present on the occasion.
