Bhubaneswar: As we enter the peak summer season, ensuring efficient use of electricity is paramount. TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, recognizes the challenges posed by the surge in power demand during this peak summer season. The surge in power demand during this period often leads to various challenges such as fuse blowing, cable and joint failures and transformer overloading, resulting in power interruptions and inconvenience for all.
These issues are compounded by unauthorized hooking from power lines, further straining the electrical network and creating hot spots, which can ultimately lead to breakdowns and safety hazards. It’s crucial to understand that unauthorized hooking is not only illegal under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, 1956, but also poses significant risks to public safety and causes losses to the community.
In light of these circumstances, it’s essential for each of us to exercise prudence and responsibility in our electricity consumption. Let’s prioritize essential usage, avoid wastage and embrace energy-efficient practices to alleviate pressure on the grid.
We appeal to the consumers to kindly refrain from any unauthorized activities related to electricity consumption and join hands with us in upholding electricity regulations and safeguarding our community. Together, let’s ensure a stable power supply for everyone. Your cooperation is invaluable.
