Paradeep: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), under its CSR initiative “Project Trupti”, has installed a community water purification plant in Handia village under Nuagarh gram panchayat, Paradeep, with the objective to provide clean and safe drinking water to the residents. The purification plant is equipped with Water ATM, which is a smart card-based contactless system of dispensing water to the beneficiaries and ensures easy accessibility for all.
The community water purification plant is equipped with advanced multi-stage treatment technology, ensuring safe and clean water for the community. The plant has multiple filtration stages, including sand and carbon filters, ensuring quality water in compliance with WHO and IS10500 standards. With a capacity of dispensing 500 Liters Per Hour, it will benefit over 1500 households in the locality.
The facility was inaugurated by Shri Suresha G, Executive Director, Operations, AM/NS India, in the presence of Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head CSR, AM/NS India, Shri Anam Swain, Village President, Smt. Laxmipriya Mohanty, Naib-Sarpanch, representatives from women and SHG groups, members of local youth organisations, and several village leaders.
On the occasion, Suresha G, said, “AM/NS India always strives for promoting good health and hygiene amongst its community members through various interventions. Under Project Trupti, we are proud to set up this community water purification plant. It will be a source of safe drinking water for our community people which will also be convenient, affordable and self-sustaining. We plan to install another Community Water Purification Plant and Water ATM in Musadia village, shortly.”
