Bhubaneswar : The four main doors of Puri Jagannath Temple was opened for public from Thursday. The three doors on south, east and west were closed for Temple Corridor Project.
There was demand from devotees for opening of all the doors following the completion of the project in early this year. The devotees whose number has grown phenomenanly were facing lot of inconvience in entering into the temple. Recently, the temple administration opened the south door for entry of people living in Puri city.
The prime minister, Narendra Modi, during his election campaign had promised that all doors to the temple would be opened immediately after BJP come to power in Odisha. The Mohan Majhi government in its first cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to open the doors for public.
