Bhubaneswar: IIIT Bhubaneswar under the ISEA Phase-III initiative and the ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEIT) commenced its inaugural day of the faculty updation program (FUP) on Cryptography & Lightweight Protocols for Cyber-Physical Systems.
The day provided a glimpse of insightful sessions and formal ceremonies, setting strong foundation for the five-day event. The opening day was marked by dynamic start kicked off with an enlightening session by Dr. Kamalakshya Mahatab from lIT Kharagpur. Dr. Mahatab delved into the fundamentals of Public Key Cryptography, RSA, and Quantum Factorization, providing participants with a deeper understanding of key topics that form the backbone of cybersecurity.
The formal inauguration ceremony was presided over by Prof. Ashish Ghosh, Director of IlIT Bhubaneswar. His address set a motivating tone for the event, emphasizing the significance of cryptography and lightweight protocols in modern cyber-physical systems.
The Convener of the Program and Co-Principal Investigator of the ISEA Project, Prof. Srichandan Sobhanayak also took the stage to speak to the attendees, outlining the goals and impact of the initiative. Adding further gravitas to the event, Shri Pradeep Kumar Biswal, Chief General Manager (IT) at Odisha Mining Corporation, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, underscoring the importance of continuous education and innovation in the field of cybersecurity.
The day’s sessions culminated with an engaging talk by Padmashri Prof. Dr. Bimal Roy, a distinguished figure in the domain of cryptography and cryptanalysis. Prof. Roy’s insights captivated the audience and highlighted the evolving nature of cryptographic techniques and their applications in today’s security landscape. Dr. Debashis Jena, Principal Investigator of the ISEA Project, was also acknowledged for his visionary leadership in spearheading the organization of the event, which promises to be an enriching experience for all participants.
