Bhubaneswar: Odisha’ s New Excise Policy is going to promote millet based beverage manufacturing in the State.
A consultative meeting with stake holders for preparation of the draft policy for 2025-26 was held under the chairmanship of excise minister Pruthiviraj Harichandan, here on Friday. The State excise secretary Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar and excise commissioner Narsingha Bhola were also present.
The meeting favoured for promotion of manufacturing units for preparation beverages from Odisha based millets like mandia, jaa and bajra. It also stressed on streamling the collection of mahua flower and its trade.
The meeting also streesed on an Excise Policy promoting Ease of Doing Businesd eco-system, transparency in trade and business and zero tolerence to spurious and illicit liqour business.
Breverage Corporation MD Ambar Kar along with the represntatives of Hotel & Resturant Associatipn of Odisha, beverage manufacturers, liquor shop owners deleberated in the consultative meeting.
