Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel, along with its subsidiaries and employees across Odisha, celebrated the 186th birth anniversary of its visionary founder, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.

Revered as the ‘Father of Indian Industry`, J.N. Tata’s legacy of industrial excellence and community welfare continues to inspire the Tata Group and the nation.

The day was marked by a series of events across Tata Steel’s operations, reflecting the founder`s enduring vision of combining industrial progress with social responsibility# This year’s theme, “Leadership in Market, Technology, and Cost”, underscored Tata Steel’s commitment to innovation, customer-centricity, and global competitiveness.

In Bhubaneswar, tributes were paid at the offices of the Chief Resident Executive of Tata Steel, Tata Steel Technical Service Limited, Tata Steel Business Delivery Centre Limited, and the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High-Performance Centre.

At Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) in Jajpur district, more than 1,000 Tata Parivar members took part a week-long celebration featuring sports competitions and community engagement programs. Tata Steel Foundation, in collaboration with TSK and Ferro Alloys Plant Bamnipal, organized a single-use plastic clean-up drive at Remal Dam, in Keonjhar collecting nearly one quintal of non- biodegradable waste.

Employees at Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) and their families in Dhenkanal district paid floral tributes to J.N. Tata, followed by sporting events and a community volleyball tournament in Talbahal village near the plant. In Joda, in Keonjhar district, celebrations spanned across the Joda East Iron Mine, Khondbond Iron Mine, NINL Mine, and the Kalamang and Gandhalpada Project Office. Employees participated in sports activities, and fruit packets were distributed to patients at Tata Steel Main Hospital, Joda, reinforcing the company’s commitment to community welfare.

Employees Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division units in Bhubaneswar, Gopalpur, Athagarh, Balasore, Kalinganagar, and Sukinda also paid homage to the legend. Community-focused initiatives included a blood donation camp organized by Ferro Alloys Plant (FAP) Gopalpur and a plantation drive conducted by FAP Jajpur.

Employees at Subarnarekha Port Private Limited in Balasore, Tata Steel Special Economic Zone at Gopalpur, also paid rich tribute to Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
