Bhubaneswar: A Various World : People, Places, Perspectives, a book by Ashok Bal, was released by Odisha deputy chief minister KV Singhdeo, here on Friday.

Published by Penguin Random House India, the book is about the ordinary people with uncommon feats, amazing places and the perspective their of. Bal pens about his encounter with these ordinary people in fifty four pieces.
Neither it’s an autobiography nor a memoir. It’s a first person, simple narration of characters and the places the author has come across in his life. And the perspectives attributed by the author make the charaters and places extra-ordinary.
Releasing the book, Singhdeo said, ” A Various World presents events, individuals, and settings that initially appear simple and ordinary, yet upon closure inspection, they reveal the layered richness and complexity of life. Ashok Bal’s book will inspire a common man to achieve something extra-ordinary. Reading books makes a man perfect, he said adding, he has been greatly influenced by Yugant, a book written by Marathi writer.
Eminent sculptor Padma Bibhusan Sudarsan Sahu, Former Income Tax chief commissioner Siba Pada Swain, and former Defence Accounts Service Officer SN Mishra spoke on the occasion.
The book release event was organised by Kalinga Literary Festival.
Author Bal welcomed the guest while founder of Kalinga Literary Festival Rashmi Ranjan Parida gave the vote of thanks. Dikshya Tiwari anchored the programme.
