Bhubaneswar: ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm across its operational locations in Odisha. This year the organisation’s campaign aligned with the global theme ‘Accelerate Action’, which emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, associates, and workers alike.

In a week-long celebration, several engaging activities were organised for the women workforce at Paradeep Pellet Plant, including debates, and quiz competitions and a plantation program within the plant premises. Informative and interactive sessions were conducted with virtual participation from employees of all Odisha locations on topics such as women’s health, fitness, nutrition and healing, emerging skill enablers for women, dismantling growth myths, nurturing confidence, and embracing sustainable growth for businesses and the Nation.

The concluding ceremony at Paradeep Pellet Plant was graced by Shri Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Operations, AM/NS India and Shri U S R Raju, Plant Head, Paradeep Pellet Plant, AM/NS India along with other officials of the company. On the occasion, women employees, associates and workers of the Paradeep Pellet Plant showcased their talents through captivating performances in dancing, singing, and poetry.

The celebrations concluded with felicitation of the participants including the winners of different competitions. At the Dabuna Beneficiation Plant, the celebration commenced with a plantation program in the plant premises followed by in-house cultural programme and interactive activities which saw enthusiastic participation of employees.

Jaiwardhan Paroha, Head – Beneficiation Plant, Dabuna, AM/NS India and Jaikishan Sharma, Head-Logistics, Dabuna, AM/NS India felicitated the women employees, concluding the event on an uplifting and positive note, Similarly, at the Mining Division, Barbil, International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. Series of events such as informative sessions, debates, quiz competitions and outdoor activities were organised with an aim to spread awareness and recognise the contributions of women to the society at large.

An open session was also Organised by the Ladies Club of, AM/NS India where women personnel put forth their views on the importance of celebrating Women’s Day and need to accelerate action for equal opportunities.

The winners of the quiz competition were felicitated by Sharanappa Kambali, Chief of Mining, AM/NS India AM/NS India celebrated International Women’s Day with members of the community at its operating locations.
