Bhubaneswar: Eminent poet Nirakar Das will be bestowed with coveted Jariya Kabi Banchanidhi Smaraki Samman for 2025. The Award will be conferred on Das at a function organised to commomorate the 128th Birth Anniversary of Odisha Shitya Academy Award winner poet Banchanidhi Mohanty at Bhadrak District Sanskruti Bhawan on Thursday.
Banchanidhi Smruti Parisad Assistant Secretary Krushna Chandra Mohanty said the name of Das, a progressive writer, has been selected by a committee chaired by preaident of the Parisad Dr. Duryadhan Das.
A paasionate poet of neo-socialistic conciousness, Das is receiving this award for he has enriched the Odia literary sphere with his books, Bhinna Ilakar Swara, Maharaga Pade Matira Swapna, Ae Yudha Nuhen Tumara, Asaranti Yatra, Bidirnna Basudha, Mun Sarvaharara Kabi, Swara Samayara.
Organised by Banchanidhi Smruti Parisad, the memorial meeting will be graced by Bhadrak collectoe Dilip Routray. Students of Bhadrak Sangeet Mahavidyalaya will present songs written by Banchanidhi Mohanty.
