Bhubaneswar: Jagdish Mardaraj, a scion of Nilagiri Royal Family, has been nominated as the new president of Sanjukta Raghunath Panigrahi Cultural Heritage Foundation.
The Foundation has been established in the name of pioneer Odissi dance exponent Sanjukta Panigrahi and her husband Raghunath Panigrahi, an accomplished Odissi vocal singer.
On being nominated as president Mardaraj said along with the Odissi dance and music, he would promote Mayurbhanj Chau dance of which the erstwhile Nilgiri Maharaja was a avid patron.
