Bhubaneswar/Gopalpur: Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi Thursday laid foundation stones for five new industrial projects at the Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP), developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL). The event took place in Ganjam, Odisha, in the presence of senior officials from the State government, local community representatives, TSSEZL officials, and existing industry stakeholders at GIP.

The CM said, “Ganjam has achieved significant milestones in the industrial sector. Due to availability of improved infrastructure, presence of a leading port and skilled manpower, investors have been showing interest to establish their units in the district.”

“With investments in green hydrogen, chemicals and renewable energy sector, Ganjam is set to create a new benchmark in the industrial sector,” he added.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including steel & mines minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, MSME minister Gokulananda Mallik, industries minister Sampad Swain, and Managing Director of Tata SEZ Ltd. Manikant Naik.

The projects for which foundation stones were laid include: HHP Five (Hygenco): Green Hydrogen/Ammonia production with an investment of Rs 4,000 Cr; Ocior Energy: Green Hydrogen/Ammonia production with an investment of Rs 7,200 Cr; Saatvik Solar Industries: Solar Cell & Module manufacturing with an investment of Rs 3,000 Cr; World Green Energy: Solar Cell & Module manufacturing with an investment of Rs 2,500 Cr; and Superform Chemistries (UPL): Specialty Chemicals manufacturing with an investment of Rs 4,001 Cr.

Manikanta Naik, Managing Director, TSSEZL, said: Groundbreaking of these five projects marks critical phase in the development of Gopalpur Industrial Park. It highlights the conducive industrial environment fostered at GIP, aimed at encouraging innovation and long-term investment. The concerted effort of our team, strong industry partnerships, and continued support from the Government of Odisha have been instrumental in reaching this milestone. We remain committed to advancing GIP as a multi-sector industrial hub and to facilitate further industrial growth in the State.

The Green Hydrogen and Ammonia produced from the Industrial Park shall be primarily for export purposes. This expansion brings the total number of Green Hydrogen/Ammonia industries at GIP to four, firmly establishing it as one of the largest Green Hydrogen hubs in the country. Among the solar cell and module manufacturers, Saatvik Solar Industries is set to establish a 4.80 GW integrated cell and 4.00 GW module manufacturing facility, while World Green Energy will develop a 2.00 GW cell and 1.20 GW module manufacturing unit.
