Narendrapur: On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM), located in Narendrapur, Dhenkanal district of Odisha, organised a voluntary blood donation camp that witnessed overwhelming participation. Employees and their families came together in a remarkable show of solidarity and compassion, donating an impressive 376 units of blood.The camp was inaugurated by Uttam Singh, Vice President-Operations, Tata Steel Meramandali, who also led by example by donating blood. In his address, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors and encouraged others to continue supporting such life-saving initiatives.
Several senior leaders from TSM graced the occasion, including Amit Singh, Chief Iron Making; Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Chief Power Systems; Amitabh Jha, Chief HRBP Vilas N Gaikwad, Chief Safety and Ramesh Kannan Mani, Chief DRI and Sinter Plants.
The event was meticulously coordinated by the Medical Services Department of TSM, with active involvement from Dr. Ashish Mahapatra, Dr. Avinash Dash, Dr. Narayan Panda, Dr. Rashmita V, Rajesh Shah, and a dedicated team of nurses and paramedical staff.Employees and their families enthusiastically embraced the spirit of giving, volunteering in large numbers to donate blood and support the cause.
The blood collection process was efficiently managed with the support of the Blood Bank, District Headquarters Hospital, Dhenkanal. From the Blood Bank, Dr. Swaroop Ranjan Sahu, Blood Centre Officer, Dhenkanal, along with Binodini Jogania, Nursing Officer and a team of lab technicians, ensured smooth and safe collection procedures.
