Barbil : ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) performed ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ for construction of a four km long concrete road from Bhanjapali Bypass to Kalmong Chowk near Sagasahi mines in Barbil. The road being developed is a regular route for commuters from local villages of Kalmong, Sagasahi and Ghorabhurani.
AM/NS India has stepped in to upgrade the existing dirt road into a durable concrete pathway, ensuring safer and more efficient travel. The road is expected to be completed in six months. Once completed, the road will benefit more than 3000 local commuters.
Sharanappa Kambalii, Chief of Mining, AM/NS India led the Bhoomi Pooja which was performed in the presence of local community members and officials from the company. On the occasion Kambalii said, “This initiative reflects AM/NS India’s deep commitment to the well-being of the communities around its operations. By transforming this vital stretch into a concrete road, the company aims to enhance connectivity, reduce travel hazards, and support the region’s economic activity.”
