Bhubaneswar, Sep 15 :Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the ground breaking ceremony of Ultratech Cement ‘s Rs. 372 crore expansion project, in remote mode from Bhubaneswar on Monday.

At a state-level Ground Breaking function at Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister did the ground breaking of the project in the presence of Minister Industries Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Ms. Anu Garg and Additional Chief Secretary Industries Hemant Sharma.

Head of Aditya Birla Group, Odisha Ardhendu Mohapatra and Plant Head of Ultratech Cement, Cuttack, Abhinash Rath were also present.

Meanwhile at the project site at Khamar Nuagaon and Kolathpangi village in Athagarh tehsil, physical ground breaking was conducted in the presence of ADM(Revenue), Cuttack Dr Dibya Lochan Mohanta.

The Ultratech Cuttack unit expansion will have investment of Rs 372 Crore and it would expand the plant capacity to 6 million tonnes per annum from the present capacity of 3 million tonnes. The expansion project will generate several new jobs for locals.
