Dhamra (Odisha): Adani Dhamra Port security personnels were not only protecting the assets of port. They also saves the lives of nearby villagers.
ln the last two months at least three lives were saved due the swift action by the port security staff.
The 63-km Dhamra Port – Bhadrak railwayline that carry over 20 freight trains passes through as many as 70 villages. The port securitymen not only guard the cargoand railway track, they also keep a close vigil on the movement villagers to avoid accident and suicidal attempts any.
Three cases of suicide attempt in Chhatrapada, Hatgadia and Kirapur villages have been detected in last two months. The survivers rescued by port security staffare were provided psychological support and counselling, helping them to recover and reintegrate. This proactive approach has earned widespread appreciation from the local community and authorities alike.
