SCML Enhances Educational Infrastructure in Local Schools of Angul

Angul : Subhadra Coal Mining Limited (SCML), a part of Essel Mining and Industries Limited (EMIL) under the Aditya Birla Group (ABG), organized a CSR outreach event on Wednesady to strengthen educational infrastructure in the region.

The event was graced by H. S. Salunkhe, GM – Subhadra area, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), who inaugurated the newly provided facilities in the presence of Bimal Baral, Project Head; Sanjeev Tripathy, Siva Sahu, Surjit Sharma, and Ms. Subhrata Subhadrarsini from SCML, respective Sarpanchs and Samiti Members of Kankarei and Raijharan Gram Panchayat, other company officials, parents, students and school authorities.

As part of the CSR initiative, SCML extended infrastructural support to several schools by providing furniture and essential fixtures such as benches, desks, podiums, steel racks, and almirahs; and utility facilities including solar power systems, water purifiers with storage, and sound systems.

The school authorities, parents and students expressed their gratitude to SCML for its continued support in improving school infrastructure. They appreciated the company’s focus on sustainable facilities like solar power systems and clean drinking water units, which will significantly enhance the learning environment for students.

H. S. Salunkhe, commended SCML for its ongoing efforts in community development and for undertaking need-based interventions in the education sector. He emphasized that such initiatives contribute meaningfully to improving the quality of education in rural areas.
