Bhubaneswar : The Birth Centinary of Professor Sarbeswar Dash (1925-2009), a legendary teacher of English literature who shaped the minds of generations of students of Odisha, was held, here at Budha Mandir on Wednesady.

Eminent academics Professor Pabitra Mohan Nayak and Professor Prafulla Kumar Mohanty graced the occasion as distinguished guests and spoke on their long association with Professor Dash. They through light on the invaluable contribution Professor Dash made to the academic world through his dedication to teaching as profession and the compassion he shared to fellow human beings.

Padmashri Dr. Devi Prasanna Patnaik reminisced about Professor Dash and threw light on his virtues as a teacher and a human being. Old students of Professor Dash such as Professor Binayak Rath and Professor Basanta Panda feelingly talked about ways in which Professor Dash impacted their lives.

Eminent present in the audience included dignitaries like Professor Ajit Mohanty, Padma Charan Nayak, Dr. Arobindo Behera, Dr. Gaurahari Das, Das Benhur and Professor Amulya K. Purohit.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Jatindra Kumar Nayak, chairperson Sikshasandhan and the vote of thanks was offered by Anil Pradhan, member-secretary Sikshasandhan.
