Bhubaneswar: A stakeholder consultation meeting on the proposed amendment to the Odisha Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy stakeholders met, here Wednesady, was here under the chairmanship of Odisha Commerce & Transport Department Principal Secretary Ms. Usha Padhee.

The meeting brought together senior officials and experts from multiple departments and sectors to deliberate on strengthening the State’s EV ecosystem and shaping the framework of the upcoming Odisha EV Policy 2.0.

Among others Transport Commissioner Sri Amitav Thakur CMD–OSRTC Sri NBPS Rsjput , MD CRUT Sri Sanjaya Biswal senior representatives from the Housing & Urban Development, Energy, Finance, and Skill Development & Technical Education Departments were present.

The participants discussed key aspects such as enhanced purchase incentives, vehicle retro-fitment and scrappage benefits, development of charging infrastructure under the PM E-DRIVE Scheme, and the creation of a dedicated State EV Fund to ensure long-term sustainability of EV initiatives.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination and private sector engagement, Ms. Padhee underlined the need for capacity building and policy alignment to enable a smooth and inclusive transition to electric mobility across Odisha.The consultation marks an important milestone toward finalising the Odisha EV Policy 2.0, which aims to position Odisha as a leader in India’s clean and green mobility movement, in line with the vision of Viksit Odisha 2036.
