Berhampur: TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has further strengthened power infrastructure in Rayagada with the commissioning of a new 33/11kV, 12.5/16 MVA power transformer at the Auto Nagar Power Sub-Station (PSS). This initiative is part of TPSODL’s continued efforts to provide reliable, stable, and future-ready electricity to consumers across Southern Odisha.
The upgrade-commissioning of a 33/11kV, 12.5/16 MVA Power Transformer at the Auto Nagar PSS- will directly tackle recurring overload issues in the existing system and significantly enhances the capacity and reliability of electricity supply. The newly installed transformer now supports the 11KV Town-3 feeder, benefiting nearly 8,000 consumers, including households, government offices, and key district administration facilities. With improved load distribution among transformers and the addition of new 33KV and 11KV bays, the pressure on older infrastructure has been reduced, leading to smoother and more efficient operations.
To further ensure uninterrupted power supply, TPSODL has also installed a 33KV Ring Main Unit (RMU) at the substation. This advanced system enables dual-source power supply, ensuring continuity even during feeder faults or emergency situations. Consumers can now expect fewer outages, improved voltage stability, and better overall service quality, which will support the city’s future growth and development.
TPSODL CEO Amit Kumar Garg said, “The commissioning of this new transformer at Auto Nagar PSS is a step towards ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply. This will greatly benefit the people of Rayagada and support the district’s growing energy needs.”
