Bhubaneswar : Sushanta Kumar Mishra, Executive-In-charge, Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) of Tata Steel, has assumed charge as the new Chairman of the Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI), Bhubaneswar-Sukinda Chapter.The charge was formally handed over by the outgoing Chairman, Pankaj Satija, during the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held, here on Wednesday.
The AGM also announced the new office bearers of the Chapter namely Shambhu Nath Jha from Tata Steel as Vice Chairman, RS Raghuwanshi from Jindal Steel as Secretary and Devraj Tiwari from Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited (FACOR) as Joint Secretary cum Treasurer.
The event also featured an insightful talk by Dr TK Panda, former Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Government of India, on the New Labour Codes. Dr Panda deliberated on various aspects of the recently introduced labour reforms and their implications for the mining and industrial sectors.
The AGM was also graced by MEAI former national president Sanjay Patnaik and Odisha Mining Corporation’s former director Sabyasachi Mohanty.
Shambhu Nath Jha, Secretary of the MEAI Bhubaneswar-Sukinda Chapter, moderated the session.
