New Delhi : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested proclaimed offender P. Arokiasamy, who has been absconding for the past more than 15 years, in a bank fraud case.
The case was registered by CBI on 21.01.2010 based on a complaint alleging that the Directors of M/s. Sun Bio Manure Pvt. Ltd., Chennai fraudulently availed loan of Rs. 201.63 Lakh from Indian Bank, Veerapandi Branch, Salem Disstrict, Tamil Nadu for Vermi culture & Dairy Farming activities by mortgaging the property, while they were not the actual owners of the said properties and thereby cheated the Bank and caused a wrongful loss of Rs.2.01 Crores to the Bank.
After completion of investigation, the CBI filed charge sheet against M/s. Sun Bio-Manure Pvt. Ltd., S.Sakthivel, S.Vijayakumari, P.Arokiasamy, private persons and S. Balasubramaniyan, Branch Manager, Indian Bank. The main case concluded in conviction and the case was split against P. Arokiasamy as he was absconding since registration of the case. The address which he provided to the Bank was also found to be false. A non-bailable warrant was issued against P. Arokiasamy.
The Second Additional Court of CBI cases, Coimbatore, declared him as a proclaimed offender in 2011.The CBI, through sustained, meticulous and diligent efforts, successfully arrested the proclaimed offender P. Arokiasamy on 04.06.2026. The accused was produced before the competent Court and has been sent to judicial remand till 19.06.2026.
