Bhubaneswar: AIIMS Bhubaneswar condemed the attack on health professionala while expressing deep sorrow over the demise of a youth in poison case.

AIIMS authority has clarified that the 36 year old youtht, a resident in Ugalpada, Khordha, was admitted for poison case. He was shifted to the Medicine Ward, where he continued to receive treatment strictly in accordance with established standard treatment protocols. Despite exhaustive efforts by the treating team and adherence to the highest standards of medical care, the patient died on Saturday.

“Following the unfortunate death, a group of the patient’s relatives and associates turned violent and physically assaulted the duty doctors and nursing staff, resulting in an unacceptable act of violence against healthcare professionals while they were discharging their duties,” said the AIIMS authority.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar categorically denies any allegation of negligence in the treatment of the patient. Every possible medical intervention was undertaken in accordance with standard clinical protocols by the treating team.

Dr. Prabhas Ranjan Tripathy, Medical Superintendent, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, strongly condemned this unfortunate and cowardly attack on healthcare professionals.

He said, “Violence against doctors and healthcare workers is completely unacceptable and cannot be justified under any circumstances. Our medical team made every possible effort to save the patient’s life while adhering to established clinical protocols. AIIMS Bhubaneswar stands firmly with its healthcare professionals and will extend full cooperation to the investigating authorities to ensure that those responsible for this reprehensible act are brought to justice.”
