Bhubaneswar : Eminent writer Puspanjali Kar’ new novel ‘Urmila’ was released here on Sunday.

The book was released by welknown poet Sailaj Rabi. Author Dr. Jayanti Rath and short story writer Deba Prasad Das introduced the book. On this occasion the second edition of her book Nepathya Nayika was also released. Eminent Gandhian Prahallad Singh made a memory walk concerning the book.

Established publication house Pakhighar is the publisher of both the books.

Secretary Pakhighar Banoj Tripathy gave the introductory speech.

Novelist Pushpanjali Kar said many readers of her novels Ahalya, Josodhara, Nepathya Nayika had suggested to write a novel on Urmila. ” I thought perhaps that was the direction of the to me and I plunged into the sea of epic Ramayan to search for the character which was rarely mentioned by Valmiki.

Kar revealed that her book Nepathya Nayika, based on the life history of Kasturba Gandhi, is going to be published in Shinhale and Hindi languages after the success of English version of the book.

Eminent literary persons like Dr. Adikandha Sahu, Dr. Gaurahari Das, Ajaya Swain were present on the occasion.
