Angul: The U-16 Girls’ Volleyball team from Talbahal, Angul, supported and nurtured by Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), finished runners-up at the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL)
The BVL, held last week at Guwahati, witnessed teams from Assam, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur and Odisha.
Representing Angul at the state-level competition, Kalinga Volleyball League, Talbahal Girls’ team secured the title and qualified to compete at the BVL.
At the Guwahati championship, the team displayed strong determination and competitive spirit, defeating teams from Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Manipur to advance to the final. In the final, Talbahal faced Assam and finished as runners-up with a 1–3 scoreline.
The team comprised Rojalin Naik, Bishnupriya Raul, Soumya Sandipa Gadanayak, Priyanka Priyadarshini, Micky Naik, Rinki Sahoo, Mirali Naik, Rupali Naik, Swarna Prabha Naik, Shivani Naik, Shrabani Naik and Sayani Naik.
