Rourkela: The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has supplied 1000 tonnes of plates from its New Plate Mill for the unique Secretariat building for Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amravati. This will also the first permanent building of the state, the foundation for which was laid last week. The 212 metres high building will be spread across 41 acres of land with five towers, built at a cost of Rs.4,890 crore.
RSP has supplied E350BR Grade Plates of thickness upto 90 mm for fabrication of the foundation of these buildings. SAIL is committed to service all the requirements for this project on high priority.
It is noteworthy that in recent times the plates from New Plate Mill of RSP have been used in many prestigious projects of national importance like Chenab bridge- the world’s highest rail bridgee, Dhola Sadiyabridge- India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Statue of Unity, transformer tanks for the Raigarh-Pugalur HVDC project, Santragachhi terminal of South Eastern railway and many more.
