New Delhi: Odisha’s Konark based community radio Radio Namaskar has bagged three national awards at the 7th Community Radio Sammelan here on Wednesday.
The union minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar, gave away the prizes at a function organized here at Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhawan.
Radio Namaskar’s Ama Priya Pakhala’ programme bagged the first prize in community engagement category of National Awards for Community Radio-2019. The programme promotes traditional nutritious food for healthy lifestyle.
‘Ama Khadya’, another programme which connects the rural women folk with the doctors for solutions to nutrition-related problems won the first prize in thematic category of National Awards for Community Radio-2018 for its programme . The key message of the programme was targeted to reach four lakh people in more than 700 villages in coverage areas of Radio Namaskar.
The community radio won the third prize in creative category of National Awards for Community Radio-2018 for its programme ‘Sishu Hasile Duniya Hasiba’. The programme brings together children from communities to share their issues and interests, advocates and celebrates rights of children by translating them into dialogues and actions. The content for this programme is generated and managed by the children.
