New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission has taken congnizance of the alleged case of sexual harassment of a minor girl in Prayas Rehabilitation Centre in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
The NHRC has directed the Kalahandi Superintendent of Police for an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the case within 4 weeks.
Human Rights Watch secretary Sangita Swain had filed a complaint with the NHRC on February 27,2019 that in Prayas Rehabilitation Centre a minor girl has been sexually harassed . She had appealed the Commission to take necessary steps for the arrest of the accused and compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the minor victim.
