Bhubaneswar: The CPI general secretary, D Raja, came down heavily on the BJD for its support to BJP government at the Centre in recent times.
Raja, who was here to attend a party’s organisational conference at Cuttack, said on Sunday that the BJD’s backing of all policies of BJP-led Central government is against the interests of the Odisha people.
The CPI senior leader pointed out, “The BJD and BJP fought a bitter battle in the run-up to the last elections. But, after the elections the BJD is supporting all the policies and decisions of BJP.”
“A bitter critic of the saffron party till the last elections, BJD has been supporting the BJP on all issues both inside Parliament and outside,” Raja said.
Stating that the BJD backed the Centre on several major issues including Triple Talaq and Article 370, the veteran left leader said that the party should make it’s stand clear on BJP’s suggestion on Hindi language.
Raja criticised the BJP government at the Centre said the Centre has give tax exemption to multi-national companies instead of addressing the problem arised due to economic slowdown. He claimed the economic slowdown in the country has severely hit agriculture, textile, automobile and construction sectors.
Raja lamented that the BJP government at the Centre is going ahead with its plans of disinvestment of PUSs when a large number of workers and employees are facing retrenchment.
He cautioned that India is under threat as mob lynching, gangrape, attack on non-BJP governments had become the order of the day.
