Bhubaneswar: The Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnai, Saturday announced a slew of infrastructure projects for five district head quarter hospitals besides the Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Bolangir. The projects would be implemented under Mo Sarkar initiatives of the State government.
Patnaik doled out financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh to each Patient Welfare Samitis of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kendrapara and Sonepur district headquarter hospitals and Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital. The funds would be utilised for construction of sheds for attendants of patients.
The Mother and Child Care Centre in Sambalpur district hospital will have a provision of an additional 50 beds. The hospital will get a separate building will be set up for Casualty and OPD and a Maa Gruha building.
Patnaik said that while the Sambalpur hospital would be upgraded as satellite centre of VIMSAR to provide special health care, the hospital will have a modern pathology laboratory, dialysis unit and ICU.
While the number of beds at Deogarh district headquarter hospital will be increased from 60 to 100 and that of Angul from 192 to 300. Angul hospital’s dialysis unit will be expanded and ICU unit will be strengthened. Anesthesia work station and ECG machines will be provided to the hospital.
Number of beds increased from 175 to 200 at Kendrapara district. Also, staff quarters, modern OPD, ICU and expansion of Dialysis unit will be carried out. Two new ambulances and one Mahapryana vehicle will be provided to the hospital.
In Sonepur district headquarter hospital, a seven-storey building will be constructed for 200 bed hospital and the work will begin in one month. New ultrasound machine, bilirubinometer, semi auto analyzer, multi para monitor and CBC machine will be given to the hospital.
The Bhima Bhoi medical college and hospital building will be constructed within 24 months.
This apart, SPs of these six districts will get Rs 10 lakh each to promote blood donation programmes.
As per the directive of the chief minister, senior officials had visited Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Kendrapara, Bolangir and Sonepur districts earlier and submitted a report.
