Bhubaneswar: The government of Odisha continues its efforts to make the administration get closer to the people of the state by making the process of governance people-centric, transparent and more responsive. With these objectives in mind the government has included the departments of Industry and MSME in the Mo Sarkar initiative with an aim to bring in change towards behavioral change and professionalism in the ranks, while dealing with entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik made the formal announcement about it, here on Thursday. The minister for industry and MSME Dibya Shankar Mishra was present on the occasion, along with principal secretary industries & MSME Hemant Sharma
The Mo Sarkar initiative covers both, Industries as well as MSME departments, along with its corporations like IPICOL, IDCO, the Office of Director of Industries, the Office of Director of Export, Promotion & Marketing and 31 District Industries Centres.
Under the initiative, anyone visiting any of the above offices will have his mobile no registered in the “Mo Sarkar Portal”. A toll-free number is being provided to register the number of the person concerned. Calls will be made by the chief minister, the minister and the departmental authorities to randomly selected numbers. In case of negative feedback the concerned office or institution run the risk of poor ranking. Consistent good feedback offers a number of incentives to the concerned officers including out of turn promotions.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen Patnaik said, “I am glad that the Industries and MSME department is coming under Mo Sarkar initiative. Considering the rapid industrialization and growing investments into the state, it is necessary that these quintessential departments of the government come under this initiative. I am aware that these departments, particularly the corporations of IPICOL and IDCO, are the most 5T and Mo Sarkar ready by the virtue of the high facilitation standards they have set over the years and would prove to be model for other departments. The fact that Odisha recently edged past Maharashtra as the most attractive destination in the country for investments during the April-September period of Financial year20 is an indicator of the professionalism of these departments.”
Dibya Shankar Mishra said, “We are fully prepared to live up to the expectations of its clientele. Necessary efforts towards sensitizing the officials have been taken up. I believe the department is fully aligned with the objectives of Mo Sarkar.”
