Bhubaneswar: The e-Market Plus GeM portal has transacted businesses worth Rs 357 crore in the State during the last three and half years. Launched in August 2016, as many as 3190 sellers and 730 buyers have registered with the e-commerce portal of the government.
These were revealed at the one-day buyers-sellers of GeM Samvaad Interaction, organised by the government of India, here on Thursday.
Addressing the workshop the CEO of government of India’s e-Market Plus Talleen Kumar said the platform is now being used by government for major e-bidding, e-auction besides small purchases like water bottles and computers in a transparent way.
State finance principal secretary Ashok Meena said that the use of portal has furthered the Odisha government’s 5T initiatives.
National Health Mission managing director Shalini Pandit said that using this portal the State has purchased 100 ambulances and is going to purchase another 100 ambulances.
Odisha State Medicine Coproration managing director Yamini Sarangi said that the Corporation is using the portal for its purchasing of medicines and other medical requirements.
On this occasion, the National Health Mission, Odisha State Medicine Corporation and the Cuttack Police headquarter were honoured for their transactions through the government e-commerce portal.
Special secretary finance PK Biswal and joint secretary Jayashree Tripathy were present.
Officials of government departments, urban local bodies, member of SHGs, MSME entrepreneurs, Start Up entrepreneurs, artisans and weavers participated in the workshop.
