Cuttack: The Odisha Police DGP, Abhay, has worked out a strategy to give protection to doctors and health workers in the time of Covid pandemic.
Abhay Saturday held a meeting with president of Odisha State Branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Dr. Nivedita Pani, secretary Dr. Beans Kishore Dash and past president Dr. PC Mohapatra along with other members of IMA Odisha Branch about the security threat to the health professionals engaged in Covid containment exercises.
The DG discussed to workout necessary measures to ensure adequate protection to doctors and health–care professionals, front line workers and to prevent any incidents of violence against them.
DGP reiterated Odisha police’s commitment to safety and security of health-care professionals working in the field.
The IMA members appreciated the good work of police during the lock down and the co-operation extended to health-care professionals. They requested for prompt action against the culprits who perpetrated such violence. They requested for co-ordination at the district level among Ss.P and office bearers of IMA district branch. They also requested for extension of arrangements in post Covid scenario as well.
ADGP (Law & Order) also attended the meeting.
