Roundels: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has bagged an order to supply 25 kilometers (1683 tonnes) of ERW Pipes for use by government of Mizoram.
The pipes 18 inch diameter in grade API 5L GrB PSL 1, will be utilised in laying of drinking water pipeline. So far pipes of 21 km length (1400 Tonnes) have been welded and supplied by the ERW Pipe Plant of RSP.
The Electric Resistance Weld (ERW) Pipe Plant of RSP caters to the smaller diameter pipe consumers. The pipes made in the Unit are used for high pressure transportation of oil & water, sewage disposal, tube wells.
